In Memory of Our Beloved Mascot

 

 

If you had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful dog you would know why it was so hard for us to say goodbye.  Duchess was special,  not only to us but to everyone she met.

 

Duchess, the dog from the South Bronx who was rescued in the  winter of 2000, was our inspiration and a true representation of  what Loving Touch is all about.                                                                                                     

 Her gentle nature and soft brown eyes reflected the love she had for her new friends and family.  She was truly a happy dog that loved her new way of life.  It was almost as if she understood what being a mascot was all about because she loved attending events and loved greeting people.

 

Four years was just not enough time with Duchess.  It makes us feel good to know that her last years were happy ones.  She was off the street and in a home and she had people around her that loved her.   On May 22^nd, 2004 we said our final goodbye to a dog we will never forget.

 

We hope to rescue many more needy animals in our days to come but Duchess will always hold a special place in our hearts.
