Some Of Our Wonderful “Cats”  Waiting For A Loving Home

When she was first rescued         Her right leg was fractured & put in a cast         Her left leg was amputated

Beanie is lucky to be alive today thanks to so many caring people.  This adorable 6-month-old kitten was a stray.  Like all kittens she was curious about everything she came across.   One morning she decided to venture into the engine of a car.  When the car was started Beanie was badly injured.  Her rescuer finally caught her days later & called us for help.  Beanie was immediately taken to a vet.  We were told that one leg was fractured & the other was broken & might need to be amputated.  Beanie was then taken to a specialist to see if her leg could be saved.  Unfortunately due to the severity of the injury we were advised to have her leg amputated.  Beanie returned to Queens & was taken back to the original vet.  She underwent a very successful operation the following day.  Beanie made a full recovery very quickly & won the hearts of all the staff members during her stay.  Today Beanie is an active kitten, she loves to chase balls but most of all enjoys the human touch, something she only learned about after she was rescued.    Beanie is now in a foster home with the family that rescued her.  We are hoping to find Beanie a permanent home with someone that will take special care of her for the rest of her life.  If you meet Beanie you will fall in love with her.

Gloria
was found in College Point. A kind family started feeding her but they were not able to keep her. Gloria is a very pretty cat with beautiful coloring. She is 4-years-old & has already been spayed. She has tested negative for FELV & FIV. It appears that Gloria is frightened of other cats, she may have had a bad experience with cats when she was living on the street.  We are hoping to find her a home where she can be the only cat or possibly with another very mellow cat.

Linda was rescued from Jackson Heights.  She was being fed by a kind couple.
There wereother cats in the area but Linda was very frightened of them.  Linda would eat her food quickly & then hide from the other cats.  When the couple was preparing to move they were very concerned that Linda would not survive on the street.  We took Linda in & she has been with us every since.  Linda is an extremely affectionate cat that loves to be held and pet.  To this day she is frightened of other cats even though she is living with them. We hope to find a nice “cat free” home for Linda where she can really be herself & enjoy human companionship.   Linda is spayed & tested negative for FELV & FIV.

Charles is a senior Siamese mix.  He was abandoned in an Apt. building stairway.  He was in a state of shock when we first saw him; he smelled of urine & stood frozen like
a statue.  It took a few days for Charles to come around by when he did he turned into the most affectionate cat we have ever met.  All Charles wants to do is cuddle with someone.  He is good with other animals but prefers to be with people.  Charles is neutered & tested negative for FELV & FIV.

Cali was found in Flushing & taken off the street by a Good Samaritan. She was young and playful & full of energy.

Cali is now in foster care and doing well. She is an extremely affectionate cat. She loves to be held and cuddled. Cali is easy going & gets along with other friendly cats. She has been spayed. She is negative for FELV & FIV.

Becky – was rescued by a Good Samaritan last winter during a snowstorm.  Becky followed her rescuer home when she was  walking her dog.  She was allergic to cats but felt sorry for Becky so she let her into her home.  She didn’t realize that Becky was about to have kittens.  Becky lived in the home until her kittens were old enough to be adopted.  Nobody wanted to adopt Becky & her rescuer could no longer keep her.  We took Becky in & we hope to find her a nice home.  Becky prefers being with people &is a bit frightened of other cats.  She is a loveable cat & will make a nice family pet.

Paulina – was rescued by one of our members when she was found inthe basement of her apt. building.  Paulina was a baby, she was frightened & her body was covered with ringworm.  She spent several months at the vet’s office being treated.  When her treatment was over she turned into a beautiful, long haired kitten.  Paulina is quiet & still a little nervous in new environments but she is coming around nicely.  She does well with other cats & will probably do well with dogs as well. Paulina is negative for FELV & FIV, she is one-year-old.
